The Quality Assurance Policy of the School of Medicine is entirely in line with the quality policy of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, as approved by the Senate of the University, and reflects its core values.

The Medical School ensures and promotes the quality of its teaching, research, and administrative work through the continuous improvement of all its functions and with the participation and contribution of all its members.

The School organizes and implements postgraduate programs of high standards in the most important fields and fields of science, oriented to modern trends and requirements, thus enhancing its academic profile. In addition, the Department is committed to developing a creative research and work environment for all its staff, teaching, research, and administrative staff, as well as to the effort of an innovative academic environment for its students.

Quality is recognized as a fundamental element for the realization of the vision and the achievement of the mission of the Department, which is why it is essential to create a culture of quality.

The Medical School and the Postgraduate Program "Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine," in particular, are committed to the implementation of the quality policy, which enhances the academic profile and orientation of postgraduate programs, promotes their purpose and objectives, implements their strategic goals (as set annually) and determines the means, actions, and ways to achieve them ensures the involvement of stakeholders and implements appropriate internal and external quality procedures with a view to their continuous improvement.

In addition to the above, the Department is committed to cultivating a climate of communication and cooperation among all members (staff, students, and stakeholders) of the Department.

The Medical School and the Postgraduate Program "Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine" apply the established quality assurance procedures of the Quality Manual of the Internal Quality Assurance System of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, with the required specialization at the level of the Postgraduate Program.

Implementing the EQMS procedures is carried out in cooperation with the university's Quality Assurance Unit (MODIP). Quality assurance procedures are a valuable tool for the department and the individual postgraduate programs to implement their teaching and research activities, ensure the achievement of their goals, and upgrade academic work in general.

The Medical School and the Postgraduate Program "Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine" for the implementation of the policy are committed to implementing quality procedures that will demonstrate:

  • the appropriateness of the structure and organization of the Postgraduate Program
  • that the intended learning outcomes and qualifications are in accordance with the European and National Qualifications Framework for Higher Education
  • the promotion of the quality and effectiveness of the teaching/research work of the Postgraduate Program
  • the suitability of the qualifications of the teaching staff for the Postgraduate Program
  • the formulation, implementation, and review of specific annual quality objectives for the improvement of the Postgraduate Program
  • the level of demand on the labor market for the qualifications obtained by graduates the quality of support services

  • the annual internal evaluation and review of the quality assurance system for the Postgraduate Program "Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine", with the cooperation of the OMEA and the MODIP of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

The procedures applied for the monitoring and continuous improvement of the quality of the Postgraduate Studies Programs are analyzed as follows:

  • Implementation of a Quality Assurance Policy for the Postgraduate Program, periodic review and revision (when required).
  • Design of the Postgraduate Studies Program, in accordance with the current legislation and regulations of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, taking into account - as far as possible - the views of students, graduates of the Department and the MSc, and partner institutions.
  • Harmonization with the current legal framework and regulations.
  • Implementation of the Regulations of the Postgraduate Studies Program and other Regulations and Regulatory Decisions of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
  • Submission of the Individual Record Sheet and the Course Description Sheet to the information system of the MODIP, by the lecturers.
  • Conducting course and lecturer evaluation by students.
  • Various ways of student evaluation.
  • Attempt to monitor the development and professional rehabilitation of graduates of the Postgraduate Program.
  • Teaching staff (selection, regulations, performance, support).
  • Allocation and management of the resources of the postgraduate Program (infrastructure, equipment, etc.).
  • Collection and processing/analysis of quality data (complete, accurate and up-to-date data) to ensure the quality of the Postgraduate Program in Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine with the aim of improving it.
  • Monitoring, analysis and comparison with national and international indicators.
  • Publication of information on the Postgraduate Program.
  • Qualitative and systematic updating of the Postgraduate Program website (Greek, English and possibly other languages), for the publication of relevant information on the Program.
  • Mechanisms for feedback on strategy and target setting etc., review, action and corrective actions (when required).
  • Conduct an annual internal evaluation (monitoring, control and review of the Postgraduate Program), in line with all the above, based on the guidelines of the NIFAE and the MDEP.
  • Support external evaluation and accreditation procedures, in cooperation with the MQF.

Quality objectives

The quality objectives on which the Medical School will focus its efforts for the Postgraduate Program "Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine" are the following:
